Focus on the Solution, Not the Problem!

Focus on the Solution, Not the Problem!

Do you ever find yourself so covered up in your problems that you couldn't find a solution if you tried? Many people have. Find out how you can change that in your life.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally he decided the animal was very old and the well needed to be covered up anyway. And since it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey, he invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.

They all grabbed shovels and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over he edge of the well and trotted off!

Hmmm.

Let me ask you a question...

Today are you likely to get some dirt thrown on you?

How about tomorrow?

And the next day?

Well, that realization will either get you depressed, or you'll feel like you just got the everlasting key to happiness.

Gosh, I hope you choose the second reaction.

Because I'll let you in on a little secret...

There is a solution to every problem. In finding the solution you may experience pain, but when you find the solution you will have a new way to solve problems in the future.

As soon as that donkey stopped bellyaching, he realized what his answer was.

There is no way, when we are upset, that we can think clearly enough to come up with the answers to the challenges we are
faced with.

And why do people get upset when they have oh-so- predictable challenges? Because most folks refuse to believe the basic tenet of life, which is...

EVERYBODY HAS PROBLEMS, EVERYDAY!!!

"That can't be!! John is always in a good mood!! He doesn't have the kind of problems like I do!!! He couldn't possibly!!!"

Look, in a few minutes someone just might burst through your door and tell you of some huge "problem" that just happened.

So instead of crying, do this...

1) Get the facts.
2) Write down all the options.
3) Weigh the consequences with the potential results of each option.

And make a decision!!!

Just do that.

Wait 'til later to cry.

Because your tears later will have a greater likelihood of being tears of joy over a successful effort that fixed that rotten
"problem" than it would be if the tears came earlier.

And remember, life isn't out to get you.

Just keep cool.

And shake it off.
